Interpreter Training Program (ITP), active Registry of Interpreters
for the Deaf (RID) certification, and 1 years Interpreter
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. This full-time contract
position is for a Braillist supporting K-12 students in the
Franklin, TN area, specifically working with elementary-aged
children. The role requires expertise in producing tactile
materials to support visually impaired students, enhancing their
learning experience within the school environment. Key
Responsibilities: Create and prepare high-quality tactile materials
for elementary students to support literacy and learning
Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to develop
appropriate Braille and tactile resources Ensure all materials meet
educational and accessibility standards for visually impaired
learners Maintain accurate records of materials produced and assist
with organizing resources for classroom use Provide training and
support to staff on the use of Braille and tactile tools as needed
Qualifications and Experience: Experience as a Braillist with
strong skills in producing tactile materials Knowledge of Braille
transcription and tactile graphic production Familiarity with
educational needs of elementary-age students with visual
impairments Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively
with a dedicated school team Strong attention to detail and
commitment to producing accurate and accessible materials
Assignment Details: Location: Franklin, TN area (on-site only)
Duration: January through May 21, 2026 School setting: K-12,
