Job Description:

Texas Home Health is seeking a Psychiatric RN to join our home health team. As part of this team the Psychiatric RN will be:

Responsible for providing nursing care requiring specialized psychiatric and mental health clinical skills within the scope of Home Health to patients with physical and mental illness, late life depression and substance abuse concerns. Provides direct patient care under physician's orders utilizing nursing theory, skills and techniques. Provides instruction and supervision of LVNs/ LPNs and Home Health Aides. Assumes responsibility for patient admissions, establishing plans of care, care coordination, re-certifications and planning discharges.

Required Experience

Current State RN license must meet one of the following qualifications:

Diploma or AA degree in nursing with at least 2 years recent nursing experience, recommended to be within the last 3 years, in a psychiatric or mental health home care program or an acute psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient program, or

Baccalaureate in nursing with at least one year recent nursing experience, recommended to be within the last 3 years, in a psychiatric or mental health home care program or an acute psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient program, or

Master?s degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing with at least one year recent nursing experience, recommended to be within the last 3 years, in a psychiatric or mental health home care program or an acute psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient program.

?For agencies providing psychiatric services under the Medicare Home Health Benefit for which Palmetto is the Fiscal Intermediary, the resume of the Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Home Care Nurse that must be submitted to and approved by Palmetto

?Current CPR certification

?Licensed driver with current auto insurance in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and a vehicle in good working order
