Our -UT Health Henderson -hospital is seeking an experienced -Certified Surgical Tech, PRN. - We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our -Main OR/ -Surgery -where you will be responsible for: -What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist the RN in identifying needs relative to individual patient assessment and age-specific requirements from infants to geriatrics
  • Perform a variety of routine/complex procedures with confidence and competence
  • Utilize equipment, instruments and supplies in accordance with standard operating procedures to facilitate expected outcome for patients
  • Participate in CQI by collecting and monitoring data for performance improvement to produce quality and excellent patient outcome
  • Provide good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure objectives are maintained
  • Maintain skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care
  • Act as a resource and role model for new staff and students
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures while carrying out duties and responsibilities as identified

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology programExperience:
    • Customer friendly
    • Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Active listening, hearing and visual skills
    • Must use written and/or verbal sources of information
    • Good problem solving skills
    • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to think strategically and act tactically
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
    • Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions and actions
    • Demonstrates good team workCertification and Licensure:
      • Current certification with one of the following: the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services
      • CPR certified -Compliance Requirements
