Job Description Job Title: Histotechnologist (Embedding Specialist) Location: Nashville, TN Shift: 3rd Shift | 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Tuesday – Saturday) Duration: Contract (3 Months) – Extension Possible Pay Rate: $36.69 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite Job Description We are seeking an experienced Histotechnologist with strong embedding and microtomy skills to support a high-volume histology laboratory. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and handling small tissue specimens and biopsies in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform paraffin embedding of tissue specimens with high accuracy Perform microtomy including cutting small tissues and biopsies Maintain productivity standards (approximately 35 blocks/hour embedding and 35 slides/hour cutting ) Ensure proper specimen handling and labeling Follow laboratory SOPs, quality control, and safety guidelines Maintain cleanliness and organization of the histology lab Required Qualifications Strong embedding experience (mandatory) Strong microtomy experience (mandatory) Minimum 5 years of histology experience preferred Ability to work independently on 3rd shift Attention to detail and commitment to quality Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field preferred HT or ASCP certification preferred Why Join?
