professionals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: in charge of the designated
nursing functions during his/her shift. Evaluates, plans, and
implements adequate resident care and prevention of illnesses.
Provides direct care, to the residents, and delegates and
supervises the care provided by AMIs/C N As. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Assigns specific duties to the AMIs on his/her shift and provides
adequate supervision of those AMIs to ensure completion of these
assignments Participates in developing, implementing, and revising
of the residents service plan Identifies, reports, and documents
incidents/accidents & participates in investigation of Incidents.
Prepares, administers, & evaluates response to medication and
treatments as ordered by physician & documents Assists residents in
ordering or reordering their medications Documents nursing
activities accurately and timely & keeps medical records current
Identifies and reports changes in residents status to physicians,
responsible parties Orients new employees as assigned Coordinates
and participates in admission, transfer, and discharge of residents
Communicates resident problems, needs, complaints, or other
concerns with Nursing Director in a timely manner Responds to
emergency situations and obtains assistance as necessary. Performs
cardiopulmonary resuscitation Assures residents rights are
protected; protects residents from abuse or neglect Practices and
assures AMIs adhere to infection control policies and procedures
Supervisor Responsibilities Supervises AMIs Functions as charge
nurse during shift QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to practice in
Louisiana Good communication & leadership skills Ability to handle
multiple priorities and manage stress PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to
pull, push up to 90 pounds, lift up to 50 pound
