Assistant Cook Daycare IdabelDescriptionStart Rate: $11.00 Hourly, Full TimeShift: 7:30am-4:00pmJob Summary: Under the general supervision of the Managing Cook and with the guidance from the Nutrition Coordinator, the Assistant Cook assists the Managing Cook with serving the children nutritious, good tasting and appealing meals and snacks.Primary Tasks* Assists in the preparation of foods; making sure it is available at serving time and kept hot and in such a way that a minimum of nutrients are lost from foods, that foods taste good and look appealing, and that there are ample amounts of food for children.* Helps to maintain established standards of sanitation, safety, food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments, including: storage of food and supplies in appropriate areas, washing dishes, cleaning refrigerators, stove, bins, cupboards, and other kitchen equipment and utensils; and sweeping and mopping kitchen and dining room floors.* Assist with food inventory according to date of arrival.* Helps deliver foods from the kitchen to the dining room ready to be served as suitable for the children's age and development.* Substitutes for the Cook in her/his absence.* Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs.* Other duties as assigned by management.Required Education, Skills And ExperienceMINIMUM* High school diploma or GED* Exhibits effective organizational and time management skills* Ability to maintain accurate written records and perform mathematical calculations accurately.* Must be a team player and work in harmony with the other workers in the kitchen* Able to perform the physical requirements of the job that may involve standing for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 55 pounds* Have knowledge about nutrition details of different foodsTARGET* Any combination of education, training, and/or experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities for the position* Exhibits effective organizational and time management skills* Ability to maintain accurate written records and perform mathematical calculations accurately* Must be a team player and work in harmony with the other workers in the kitchen* Able to perform the physical requirements of the job that may involve standing for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 55 pounds* Two years' experience in child food service preparation\Job EducationPrimary Location OK-IdabelWork Locations Idabel Headstart 2412 E Lincoln Idabel 74745Organization EducationSchedule RegularFull-timeDay JobReq ID: 21002223
