Job Description:
West Fraser seeks a motivated and disciplined individual to join
our team as an Operator Apprentice. In this role, you will engage
in comprehensive training designed to impart the skills necessary
for proficiency in operating diverse wood manufacturing machinery
used in the production of lumber, plywood, and other wood products.
As an integral member of our operations team, your journey will be
supported by our commitment to quality, community, and
sustainability in creating essential wood products. Assist in the
setup and operation of manufacturing equipment under the direct
supervision of experienced operators. Perform routine machine
maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation. Adhere
to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work
environment. Participate in quality control processes to maintain
the standards of finished products. Assist in the documentation of
operational procedures and production outcomes. Engage in training
sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools. Ability to
read and interpret technical documents and diagrams. Strong
problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal
and written. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

workplace safety (e.g., OSHA) recommended but can be obtained
during apprenticeship.
