Job Description:
West Fraser, a leader in the North American integrated wood
products industry, is seeking a highly skilled Machine Operator to
join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the
efficient production of our wide range of wood products including
lumber, LVL, MDF, plywood, and more. The successful candidate will
operate sophisticated machinery, contribute to our production
goals, and uphold the quality standards that West Fraser is known
for. Operate various machinery and equipment used in the production
of wood products efficiently and safely. Monitor equipment to
ensure it operates properly and adjust settings as necessary to
ensure quality production. Perform routine maintenance on machinery
to ensure operational efficiency, including cleaning, oiling, and
other minor adjustments. Adhere to all safety policies and
procedures as established by the company and regulatory entities.
Record data regarding production volumes, dimensions, and quality,
and report any discrepancies or machine malfunctions to
supervisors. Collaborate with other team members to meet production
targets and improve process efficiency. Ensure work area is clean,
secure, and well maintained. Proven ability to operate and maintain
industrial machinery. Strong understanding of production procedures
and safety standards. High level of focus and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and
schematics. Basic mathematical skills for measuring and calculating
production specifications. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification in industrial
equipment operation is preferred. OSHA Safety Training
certification.
