Summary

The Machine Operator - HPP position performs the operation and maintenance of various production machines under the supervision and direction of the Boxing Supervisor.

Essential Functions

1. Performs the careful handling of packaged meat products in a fast paced environment.

2. Performs the loading and unloading of packaged meat products into and out of the HPP machine

3. Must be familiar with the RUB system and product specifications

4. Must be able to stand between 2 - 3 hours at a time.

Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of a company approved frock, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold temperatures as low as 36 degrees Fahrenheit. The floor of the work area is typically very wet. At times the work area experiences high traffic of forklift and pallet jack operators.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Frequent use/motion of hands, wrists and arms are required

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 40+ hours per week.

Hours of work: Monday through Friday, typically a 12 hour shift, 6am - 6pm (1st shift) and 6pm - 6am (2nd shift). Start and finish times vary depending on workload. Weekends and overtime hours are often required. Schedule is subject to change with or without advance notice.
