Job Description:

Performs entry-level network and end user support. Work involves assisting in the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of a local area network, wide area network and end user support. Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Provide technical support of agency computer hardware, software, and network technology to manager, peers, subordinates, and other agency staff.(10%) Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve agency technology infrastructure problems involving hardware, software and network related issues.(10%) Perform hardware, software, and network equipment installations.(10%) Perform desktop and network performance monitoring to address latency issues, conflicts, or other performance issues.(10%) Provide project management oversight of IT related projects within area of support.(5%) Design, modify, and implement new or revised systems to automate processes or improve work flow.(5%) Develop, test, maintain and implement computer programs or scripts to automate processes.(5%) Conduct product research and analysis of workstations, hardware, software, and other business solutions to identify issues and make recommendations based on this research.(5%) Develop, prepare and submit reports, statistics and other correspondence to manager, peers, and customers as requested.(5%) Complete, submit and respond to all IT assignments on a timely basis that meet management expectations.(10%) Provide first level staff supervision and oversee the work of others.(5%) Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.(5%) Attend work on a regular and consistent schedule in accordance with agency policy.(15%) Knowledge Skills Abilities: Knowledge of network facilities and data processing techniques; of personal computer hardware and software; of network operating system and security software; and of performance monitoring and capacity management tools. Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve network problems. Registration or Licensure Requirements: Preferred, but not required. Initial Selection Criteria: Experience in local or wide area network work and end user support. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.
