Responsibilities
- The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant shall be responsible
for providing, under the direction of licensed Physical Therapist,
a full range of age appropriate therapeutic interventions in an
interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's
qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.
- Provides age appropriate treatment according to established
goals on the treatment plan and assists the supervising Physical
Therapist in reassessing patient's functional status when goals are
met or there is a change in patient's condition.
- Instructs/educates patients/families in appropriate activities,
home programs and referral to community resources utilizing both
verbal and written programs.
- Documents progress in the medical record and maintains patient
records as required.
- Communicates with patients, families and all health care
professionals required to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary
care.
- Maintains skills and knowledge through training and continuing
education to provide expected standards of care.
- Participates in internal and external activities designed to
promote awareness of rehabilitation and other health related
subjects. -
Qualifications
Job Requirements: -
- Graduate of a PTO approved Associates degree program
- Current professional license active and valid in the State of
Texas.
- 3-5 years experience preferred in acute or outpatient
setting
