Support Technician Job Description: Reporting to the I.T. Director, the I.T. Support Technician will serve as the first point of contact for all software and hardware related issues and is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, modifying, and repairing both software and hardware with multiple configurations and networks. The I.T. Support Technician will have a working knowledge of LANs, VPNs, Active Directory, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, SANs, and VMWare. The I.T. Support Technician will possess and demonstrate the ability to deal patiently and professionally with end users at all times. The I.T. Support Technician will be required to travel to various store locations in some circumstances. Core Roles Department: --- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, and software related problems.--- Install, maintain network computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment.--- Install, configure, and support Windows desktops with Microsoft Office suite and maybe required to train end users in some instances.--- Work with IT vendors to resolve hardware and software problems.--- Research, test and implement new solution to assist with productivity.--- Optimize computer usage by researching and recommending enhancement to system capabilities and performance.--- Conducts research on new technology as requested in order to stay abreast of any new releases and features of business operating systems and software utilized by the organization.--- Serve as technical expert within the organization and provide support services to all associates.--- Ability to perform tasks related to data center management, such as working with servers, firewalls, switches, virtual center equipment, SAN's.--- Enforce network security and installation procedure.--- Ensures all support department work is performed to meet customer satisfaction standards and requirements.--- Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures and safety rules and regulations.--- Provide technical support services to all associates.--- Contributes to the overall strategic design and day-to-day administration of the desktop and network environments.--- Manages requests for new employees, equipment, and company system access.--- Aim to ensure an Excellent level of support is provided to, and perceived to be received by, each office.--- Ensures all support issues are responded to and resolved within agreed business SLA's and prioritizes incidents as necessary and appropriate.--- Ensure the monitoring systems employed by IT are operational and constantly reviewed to identify potential network and infrastructure issues.--- Undertake assigned project work and take an active role to ensure the project is developed effectively and completed to schedule.--- Handles any projects assigned by management.--- Provides IT management with a status of work in progress on a consistent basis. Inform IT management immediately of significant or recurring issues or other problem that causes an interruption to the business operation.--- Performs other duties as assigned.
