Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiogram Technician Extern Non-Registered to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our cardiology department, you will be responsible for performing quality diagnostic echo cardiology procedures, responding to cardiologists' input, and promoting teambuilding initiatives.Responsibilities

• Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Perform all routine echocardiograms for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease.
• Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease.
• Notify physicians daily for exam interpretation and check weekly for needed supplies.
• Demonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
• Adapt assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate age-specific or other developmental needs of patients.
• Demonstrate adherence to the Core values of Christus Healthcare.
• Obtain certification by ARDMS or CCI within 1 year of hire, but it is not required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology is preferred.Experience
    • Two years of experience in the cardiology field is preferred.
    • Experience with stress testing is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
      • BLS is required.
      • DCS, RCS, RDMS through ARDMS or CCI is preferred.Work TypePer Diem As Needed
